Cooking with Seaweed

Seaweed Salad

Purple Laver Paper Recipes

Purple Laver or Nori is a very versitle Seaweed. Delicious and nutritious!

Peppered Nori snack

A delicious snack food commonly found in Asian markets, these spicy nori strips can easily be made at home and without the preservatives and MSG the commercial versions usually contain.

6-8 dried whole wild Nori (Laver). (not the premade nori sheets).

2 cups cool water for moistening.

Bragg liquid Aminos, or soy sauce

1-2 teaspoons Szechuan seasoning (Spice hunter is a natural, low salt brand I like)

Lightly dip the Nori into cool water to soften (don't soak; just quickly moisten).

Spread out on baking sheets. Spray the seaweed with the liquid aminos or brush the soy sauce onto the seaweed to coat, and sprinkle with the seasoning.

Toast at 250 F until crisp, or dry in a dehydrator. Break into bite-size pieces and store in an airtight glass jar.

Enjoy!
